The International Driver's Permit (IDL) has allowed International Travelers to drive freely throughout the world since 1949, when the United Nations sanctioned its use.

The U.S. State Department recently issued a statement through their "Tips for Foreign Travel" brochure, stating that more and more countries prefer drivers to carry an IDL as an accompaniment to their U.S. state-issued license.

If you have a valid foreign driver's license apply for a Honduran Permit:

Individuals who possess a foreign drivers license,(not issued by the United States) but are planning to travel to and drive in the United States, please apply for the Honduras issued International Drivers Permit.

The IDL must be of foreign issue to be used in the United States. This IDL may accompany a drivers license issued by ANY foreign country that signed the U.N. Charter.
